Our Collective

How it began.

Footsteps of the Flock Publishing began with a simple desire to write, design, and publish an alphabet-based Bible story and text set for young children, pairing each letter with a familiar Bible story and a Bible verse to memorize. Our hope was that as our children became familiar with each letter of the alphabet, they would also become familiar with God’s Word.

The hands behind the books.

What began as one small project has grown into the unexpected privilege of publishing Reformed Christian books for children and young adults. We are both humbled and thankful for the opportunity to serve Christian families in this way while working from home and raising our children. It is our hope that these books will prove a blessing to many.

Anneka Maaskant

Fraser Valley, British Columbia

I am Anneka, a wife and mother of four, living in the beautiful Fraser Valley of British Columbia. I love the rain, the rolling farmland, and the long summer days, but perhaps more than all these, I cherish cozy winter evenings spent by the fireplace with a good book in one hand and a hot coffee in the other.

I am Joka Versteeg, wife to Henry and a stay-at-home mom to three beautiful children. I love summer mornings, outdoor adventures with my family, and quiet evenings spent reading or dreaming up our next project. In life’s quieter moments, you’ll often find me reading Footsteps children’s books with my kids, editing books, or designing family photo albums.

Mariah Korevaar with her family

Author

Mariah Korevaar

I am Mariah Korevaar, wife to Neil, and mom to Marah. We live in the countryside near Courtland, Ontario, where deer often roam near our home and our Golden Retrievers keep us happily occupied. Each evening, as the sun begins to set, I am so thankful that we can sit down with our little girl and read simple, biblically accurate Bible stories, to teach her tender heart. My hope is that, together with the writers and illustrators of Footsteps, we can continue to write Bible stories that encourage other families to snuggle up on the couch and do the same.

Our books are also brought to life by gifted illustrators. We look forward to introducing them here soon.
